Apr 12, 2020 · Hi ShadyLady, Thank you for the response! I've heard if my situation is non-cancerous, then the CA 15-3 level should hold about the same when the blood test is done again. The ton of supplements can be a factor too. I'll need to back off on a few to give my liver a break.

Oct 19, 2020 · Allstar, My dr. doesn’t even want to include the CA 15-3 in my monthly blood panels because he feels the test is too unreliable to be meaningful. If yours has been stable for two years, then maybe that value is normal for you. Instead, my doctor prefers to use the breast cancer tumor marker CA 27.29 and the general tumor marker CEA.

Apr 7, 2010 · i was followed with CA 27-29 for the first 2 yrs, but then they switched to CA 15.3 because it is a cheaper test. i was told at the time, and again since, that it is "the same thing", but in reading the articles at the above link, i see that they actually DO look at different things.

Apr 30, 2015 · Evening, all. I just had my blood work done today - all looked good except for the CA 15-3 - it went up from 12 (last month) to 16 (today). I have had it as high as 19 in the past and then it trends down to 10 or 11, then it wobbles between 12-13-14. To me, 4 points is A LOT, but it is still way below range of 30 (?).
