WHAT: BugFest 2025 – An exciting and educational family festival hosted by the city of Grand Prairie to celebrate the fascinating world of insects. Organizers are expecting large crowds (several thousand people) of all ages and will have plenty of things to do throughout the grounds for everyone to enjoy.

Enjoy scientist-guided Bug Walks on the Parkway and our famous Roach Races or discover your love for something surprising like the unexpected insect biodiversity of your local park. Explore specimens from the Academy’s world-class Entomology Collection, including recently discovered beetles, bees and butterflies.

For one weekend a year, BUGfest brings together invertebrate experts, educators, and enthusiasts for a celebration packed with collections showcases, live insect interactions, and informative lectures with community partners and vendors from around Utah.
