Aug 12, 2009 · A hunting pard of mine uses Hornady 165 BTSP's and 57 gr of IMR4350 on both deer and moose. He's killed lots with it from a 760 Remington pump. Everything he shoots dies pretty much on the spot. He thinks the thing is a death ray. I load his bullets for him. They're accurate, and expand and penetrate - a marriage made in heaven.

Used my 7mm RM and a 162g BTSP InterLock one time, back in the early-to-mid 1980's. It drilled a bull elk smack in th emiddle of a rib, passed between the off-side ribs (possibly nicking one but nothing significant) before stopping under the hide. Retained weight was under 48%, even though the challenge to its integrity wasn't that great.

Jan 12, 2014 · I know the question was about BTSP but I have used the flat based version of both on deer, and the speer definetely held together better in my 30-06. The sierra was 1/4 inch better accuracy wise, but both very accurate with 52 of 4064.

Regarding elk, the deadest I've seen got that way from a 140 Ballistic Tip from a light-loaded 7-08, bang-flop. Nonetheless can't argue the high praise for the 270W with 150 Partitions for elk. Feb 8, 2009 · The X bullet broke the off side shoulder on the brown bear and exited. The Partition didn't exit that I could find on the black bear. Heavier Nosler Partitions are supposed to have heavier jackets, yet I have this puzzle I have no solution for. I like the .375 diameter Speer 300 grain BTSP for long range use, on paper targets.
