Whistler frees himself, escapes from Reinhardt, and rescues a weakened Blade. Reinhardt shoots at the two, but Blade falls into Damaskinos' blood pool, restoring his strength.

Nyssa is a "pure blood" (born a vampire) but she has a scar above her lip and fillings in her teeth. According to the logic of the movie, a pure blood vampire would never scar and, we might infer, would never need dental treatment.

In the film's prologue, antagonist Jared Nomak visits a blood bank in Prague which is run by vampires. After being brought in to "donate", Nomak kills the vampire surgeon and his assistant by feeding on their blood. He also kills a human guard by throwing him into a wall.
