In your opinion, which of these three are the best for running DND5e campaigns. I really enjoy the 3D aspect of talespire and the ability for players to interact with the surroundings more, the tools in Foundry are great but its a bit over complicated for me, still looking for a decent tutorial, and Roll20 is free but annoying at the best of times.

If the VTT is not free, I'd much prefer a one-time payment than a subscription or pay-for-content model. I do not mind paying upfront if the VTT does exactly what I want. Able to quickly make maps by inserting features (rocks, trees, floors, walls, pits, etc.) on the fly.

Mar 24, 2020 · Roll20 and Foundry VTT are much more integrated because of a third party Chrome extension. Using that extension, you don't need to port over, copy or rebuild your character in those VTT's. You play from a DnDBeyond tab and by clicking on skills, abilities, spell or attacks, the dice get rolled directly in the VTT.

Jul 11, 2018 · "Best" is a relative term based on who you ask, but for the longest time I didn't use a VTT because I couldn't find one that I felt was acceptable. I have since purchase Foundry VTT. It does require a one-time investment of $50.

Apr 23, 2020 · Roll20 and Foundry VTT are your best bets. Both works on any PC/big tablet since players connect with their browser for free (no license or any purchases needed). Roll20 free version is very limited but it has paid licensed WotC/Paizo content so you save time on prep.
