Jan 13, 2022 · Beastfolk as aliens are very lazy in my opinion and I personally hate them though. Aliens should be at least a bit weird. I agree that things like elves, dwarves, and orcs have been done to death and I respect anyone trying to diverge from that although I do like a well done classic fantasy setting too.

In Xouria I have beastfolk and here's the description I have for theom among the other nine great races (Humans, dwarves, elves, goblins, gnomes, halflings, centaurs and orcs). It's generally a bit of a catch all term, but they are compatible with each other and don't necessarily breed true.
