Dec 27, 2023 · Bald Mountain has the highest elevation gradient in Georgia. From Holly creek/Emery Creek (under 1000ft elevation) it climbs 3,000ft+ to the summit. It's prominence is more akin to brasstown bald than any other mountain in north georgia. I have always thought the chatsworth area mountain views were more dramatic due to this.

Oct 7, 2024 · Turns out, the yearling bird was just too stubborn to let go and flapped to shore. The still brown headed Bald eagle spent the next two hours eating fish and menacing any critter or other bird who came close. Only after finishing most of the fish, resting up, and flapping to dry his wings, did the big raptor fly (slowly) away.

Sep 1, 2009 · I drove HWY 180 last year for 3 months while working a job in Blairsville. We saw 4 different bears crossing the road within two miles of brasstown bald during that time (mainly mornings) There's a small green food plot on the left just past there that seems to get alot of attention as well. never saw the first deer during that time.

Jul 5, 2022 · Here’s a pic from the top of Shooting Creek Bald from back in January. I don’t have any recent pics of the others on this new phone. Those tops you mentioned are, in my opinion, Georgia’s last frontier. If I told you the easier ways in, I’m just spoiling half the fun for you.

Mar 22, 2024 · My area of Fl ( just south of Tampa bay) is full of Bald eagles. Our county dump has 3-4 that dine there most every day. I’ve seen several in my back yard (I have several large pines that grow in the middle of a 10 acre pasture) and I know of a half dozen nest within 10 miles of me. They are magnificent birds to watch.
