To celebrate the launch of TotK i put together a massive gallery of some of my favorite screenshots that i've taken from BotW over the last 2 years. What exactly is the art/graphic style of Breath of the Wild?
cel shading isnt an art style its a type of shading. you can put cel shading over something a bit more realistic and it would have like a comic book effect, or like in a lot of dragon ball games they use cel shading to make it look like the anime but in 3D. it has nothing to do with textures. theres a small bug in botw where standing in a certain spot removes the cell shading.

[ALL] What's the best art style? : r/zelda - Reddit
May 20, 2020 · BotW is a mix between different art styles. It's realistic enough without compromising the fantasy/magical/mystery aspect of the series. It's very beautiful and was the right choice for the game. However, it would not suit every game.
