Feb 9, 2020 · Also it's best to buy a facelift model e87 with the same dash and upgraded taillights etc, as they have the same wiring as needed for n54 swapping. 130i would be easiest as it has ekp and everything already just swap engine loom, cas,dme and mechanical parts.

May 21, 2016 · N54 is the most fun, but also the most troublesome. N55 is almost as fun as the N54, and far more simple/reliable. Make sure it comes out of an E Series though, E8* 135i or E9* 335i to keep the electrics relatively straightforward, you don't want an F Series wiring nightmare.

Dec 3, 2013 · Besides the fact that you'd have to get someone to fabricate something to fit the bellhousing, I doubt the 118i could handle the torque of the N54. I'm guessing cost blowout. Go to realoem.com and compare part numbers between the 118i drivetrain and that from a N54 car. Is your ECU from a 335i sedan?
