Mar 28, 2012 · The Type R heads are the same as the B16 head with a port job. They flow DIFFERENTLY than a P72 head NOT BETTER one flows better on low end one is better on high end. The GSR is the head you want for more compression, but you cant run too much dome on your piston so overall a PR3 head is for NA and a p72 is for boost typically.

Jun 26, 2008 · The B16 head does flow better than the P72. It will reduce your compression ratio if just bolted on due to the GSR head having a smaller combustion chamber. The B16 head is the same head design as the ITR minus the port work. I honestly wouldn't bother trading. Especially if you plan on getting cams, valves, retainers...etc down the road.
