Ayre is a disembodied Rubiconian who interacts with Augmented Human C4-621 through the Coral in their body. Following their unexpected "Contact" during the Coral War, she provides 621 mission support complementary to their broker Handler Walter's.

Augmented Human C4-621, aka "621", is a mercenary Armored Core pilot active during the Coral War. 621 has undergone extensive biological and cybernetic operations which augmented piloting skills and limited ability to experience human emotions.

Ayre clearly cares deeply about 621 and sounds absolutely heartbroken in the Fires of Raven ending, and they way she encourages you to "take your time" while exploring the Xylem feels flirty... but she's an errant energy wave and 621 is a lobotomite in a can, so who can even say.

There are three endings to ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, with differing final bosses. Depending on which ending is chosen, the fate of 621, humanity, the Coral, and Rubicon 3 are all decided for good. The Fires of Raven is one of two endings initially available during the campaign's first playthrough.
