Feb 10, 2013 · Met a friend at Au Cheval for dinner last night - shortly before 6:30, they quoted a 45-minute wait and they were pretty much on the mark. I was able to taste a number of items, including one cocktail, the Strange Brew. I really liked the cocktail - gin and pineapple juice, but also IPA which might satisfy many opposed to sweet drinks.

May 2, 2023 · Very good food, and they also have a tasty burger, in the Au Cheval style, available for both brunch and dinner. With RHR, The Stopalong, and Leavitt St Tavern all nearby, Bucktown now has another excellent burger option.

Jun 15, 2020 · I mean look at Mott St's contemporaries- Embeya, BellyQ, OON, all far far less "adventurous" in terms of flavors and ingredients. Are they comparing it to specialized ethnic restaurants like Rainbow or Santouka? I just don't get it. Mott St has offal, numerous fishy flavors and even a gelatinous fish dish, and real fermented foods- not cabbage in vinegar like at BellyQ.

Nov 27, 2023 · I've not been to Au Cheval, but I had heard those that have been compare LBW to that, and possibly even better. I for one LOVE their burgers. I think the smash burger double and triple up with all that grease just makes the umami amazing. I like Kuma's, but for plain burgers LBW is my go to.
