Atti Worku established and led Seeds of Africa as CEO from 2008 to 2021, growing our organization from an afterschool program to a full-time school and micro-finance institution for women small business entrepreneurs.

Atti Worku, AVFund’s co-CEO, is a seasoned nonprofit leader and advocate for greater equity and justice in philanthropy and development. Prior to joining the Fund, Atti founded and led Seeds of Africa for over 10 years.

Born in Ethiopia, Atti Worku is the Founder and CEO of Seeds of Africa, a New York City 501 (c) (3) nonprofit dedicated to developing the educational foundation for the next generation of African leaders.
