Grixis Sacrifice isn't all that new, but MonoBlack Artifacts still has a lot of exploration to be done despite it's heavy association with Phyrexia. It's less the Commander that excites me, but more the signaling of a new direction for Black in Commander.

Feb 5, 2024 · Ashnod's Altar is the same. Activating a Food is activating an ability of an artifact that isn't a mana ability for which a permanent was sacrificed to activate it, so Ashnod does trigger for it. Same for Clues.

She was weakened by Ashnod's torture, but it seems it was just old age and a hard life in general that killed her. "She died in bed, weakened by wounds suffered over a decade previous—wounds inflicted by Ashnod the Uncaring, Mishra's assistant.

Ashnod can win straight up with a single Magda activation, or a Kuldrotha Forgemaster actuvation (yuck). Ashnod also doubles some silly things like mishra/urza baubles, can turn [[priest of forgotten gods]] into something actually interesting (targeting makes it not a mana ability 🧠)… That’s what I’ve got 🤷🏻♂️

I was working on an Ashnod list myself, and a silly combo I found is [[Liquimetal Torque]] or [[Mycosynth Lattice]] to turn [[Inventor's Fair]] into an artifact before sacrifiing it to get double the fabricate tutors.
