The devices will switch automatically between the networks depending on which has the least amount of interference and the strongest signal. If they are only able to connect to the 2.4G network, that would be the network they would see as available.

All cabling is Cat6e. After installing the replacement modem (Hitron EN5521) I noticed that my speed tests dropped to 90 Mbps.

The SAC2V2S router does have both 2G and 5G enabled, but it doesn't differentiate between them in the network name so that devices that are capable of using both networks can switch between them depending on which has the better signal in the home or if one is out of range without you having to manually swap networks.

Jul 13, 2022 · But for the past several months we've been getting so many disconnects I can't work from home anymore. There have been no changes to the equipment or wiring in this time. I have cycled the power on the modem (including disconnecting the coax) and the router. The modem is an Arris Surfboard SB6141. I've attached an image from the modem status page.

Jan 26, 2025 · Yes, it is the same. The coax comes in directly to the Arris S33 and terminates there. There is a Cat-6 cable (6ft) between the S33 and a Linksys E8450as the router/wifi. We run a split network , 5Ghz on one SSID and 2.4Ghz on a different SSID.

Feb 3, 2023 · Spectrum recently came out and re-ran a line somewhere. I also replaced my aging modem with a new Arris SB8200 modem. I have been having issues with voice chats going in and out on apps like discord and teams. I have noticed channel 1 is having tons of issues can anyone give me some insight as to what might be going on?
