Jul 3, 2013 · Antelope are fairly small critters with light bone structure. You don't have a lot of meat to start with. The last thing you want is a light bullet that is going to fragment and ruin more meat. Any decent hunter can get with 300 yards of an antelope, and you'll likely have breezy conditions during your hunt. Go with the 130 grain bullet.

Jan 1, 2025 · Each group spent approximately 4 hours driving their route and met in Bickelton. This survey was done primarily by 3 SCI chapters with the locations of antelope to be shared with WDFW whom I believe will do an airiel survey at some point. Our groups found 183 antelope. With a high buck to doe/fawn ratio.

The private property I am fortunate to hunt has an abundance of whitetail deer with strict limits on how many can be taken; I was able to take four to fill our freezer. In 2023 I remarked that I had never seen Wyoming greener.

Oct 31, 2008 · Question. How do you remove the horns off an antelope so you can preserve the flesh underneath? The goats I have killed before werelate in the season so the horns just pulled off. This one i got now was early in the season so the horns are stuck on good. It's been in the freezer since the kill in early Oct. Thanks for the advice. Roger

Sep 16, 2012 · It made the antelope very, very easy to spot, even at distances of 3-5 miles sometimes. The day I shot the buck, we drove south down to Phoenix and were in solid rain for two hours. In the last picture, you can see a rain shower just to the right of my left shoulder which hit us as we carried the buck out.

Aug 27, 2014 · Congrats to him! That's a special area to hunt anything in, especially antelope! My dad drew this tag in 2004 with like 4 points as a non-resident! It was an awesome hunt! He ended up killing a buck like the one above at 7,500' elevation at the top of McCoy Creek canyon. We also caught some bug trout in the Blitzen River, what a good time!
