Another good one for general use is combining approximately equal parts cured salmon egg juice, shrimp oil, crawfish oil, and anise oil. It’s tough to beat just shrimp oil with little anise for steelhead.

Dec 8, 2011 · You can have several custom scents to take with you.....sticky egg scent, sticky anise scent, sticky juice scent, sticky shrimp scent, and sticky garlic scent for the italian steel.....You should be hooking up 2 to 3 steel a trip with the setups I have given and the custom scents if not you are doing something wrong.....Like not fishing holding ...

May 8, 2014 · I usually carry 4 to 6 different scents in the boat one of which is always Mike's kokanee lunker lotion, the others include combinations anise, shrimp, krill, crawdad, etc. from any of the several main manufacturers. I like to re-scent after every fish or every 15 to 20 minutes (which ever happens first).

Aug 27, 2010 · The scent made by Smelly Jelly called, "Special Mix" is a combination of shrimp and anise and is good stuff. I know a guy who adds pure anise to his eggs when curing them after they juice up. When the eggs re-absorb the juice, they absorb the anise along with it.
