Aquileia was a busy port city near modern Venice and it's within the realm of plausibility that some merchant brought it to Levant. Petra was still flourishing during the reign of Constantine I, since it's decline started in 363 after a devastating earthquake.

Mar 21, 2020 · For those of you who don’t know, Petra is an ancient city in Jordan. It is one of the 7 Man Made Wonders of the World. The town surrounding it (also called Petra, I believe) is newer, but the city itself, almost a beehive of palaces, temples, and homes carved in to the walls of a deep stone valley, dates back to 300 B.C. It feels otherworldly.

I visited Petra during down time on a military exercise in Jordan in 2014. Magnificent - but the walk to it from the entrance to the site is long, riddled with stalls force feeding you their items, with part of the way being offered on overworked donkeys that are quite literally in shit-state.
