The clothing seems mid/late 20th century. Manga Amestris seems to be more of a vaguely European fantasy country.

May 12, 2015 · Some of the commenters say that Aerugo is Italy — alright. But Xing and Drachma make this a bit problematic for me. If I had to guess, based solely on these two and their real-life bases, Amestris would actually be in Central Asia. It would also explain the Desert Area between them and Xing. But again, this is just a guess.
