Alash started the spring of 2009 by participating in South By Southwest (SWSX), the popular music festival held annually in Austin, Texas . They performed at several other venues in Texas before heading north to Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, and Vermont.

ALASH ensemble is a quartet of master throat singers (xöömeizhi) from Tuva, a tiny republic in the heart of Inner Asia. The ancient art of throat singing (xöömei) developed among the nomadic herdsmen of this region.

Mar 4, 2025 · Alash opened the performance with “Ene-sai,” a somber and reverent song that celebrates the deeply touching artistry of Tuvan singing styles. “Kosh-oi and Torgalyg,” which is an ode to two “sister” rivers, featured a soaring shoor solo, emotive vocals, and a rocking doshpuluur accompaniment.
