Ali ibn Abbas al-Majusi was a pioneer in psychophysiology and psychosomatic medicine. He described how the physiological and psychological aspects of a patient can have an effect on one another in his Complete Book of the Medical Art.

The Complete Book of the Medical Art (Arabic: كامل الصناعة الطبية, Kitāb Kāmil al-Ṣināʻa al-Ṭibbīya), also known as The Royal Book (Arabic: الكتاب الملكي, Al-Kitāb al-Malakī), was written by Iranian physician 'Ali ibn al-'Abbas al-Majusi during the 10th century.

A li ibn Abbas al-Majusi, known in Europe by his latinized name, Haly Abbas, was born in Ahvaz in the kingdom of Persia (now part of Iran). He was a highly influential physician during the tenth century. However, very little is known of his life other than the writings he left behind.
