I’ve put most of my ADV miles on a pair of Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmets. It is a perfectly good helmet, but certainly on the more affordable end of the spectrum, currently selling for $199 on Amazon. It weighs about 4 lbs, significantly more than even the Leatt 8.5, never mind the 9.5 Carbon. That weight difference adds up over a long ride.

Feb 25, 2025 · Klim is back with a new helmet for adventure riders, adding the new X1 Alpha to the lineup today. According to Klim, this helmet’s design is the result of five years of in-house R&D at their Idaho headquarters.

Much of the chassis is identical or similar to the ADV models; the frame is all pinched straight from the 890 Adventure. The gas tank has a similar wraparound design, with lobes lowered down beside the engine, but it only holds 4.1 gallons of fuel instead of 5.3 gallons. That means less fuel range, but for street touring, it’s more than enough.
