Ace Week, formerly Asexual Awareness Week, is an international campaign dedicated to raising awareness and expanding education of asexuality. The week gives all of us an opportunity to celebrate how far our community has come and to dream about the future we will create together.

Part celebration of the progress we’ve made as a community, and part campaign for greater understanding and acceptance of asexual-spectrum identities, Ace Week is a time to focus on all things ace*. The ace community has made significant headway over the years.

Ace Week has been growing alongside the ace community ever since it was first established as Asexual Awareness Week back in 2010. Originally an awareness campaign that primarily targeted LGBTQ+ communities and their leadership, the scope of Ace Week's audience and purpose has gradually expanded.

By embracing the name “Ace Week,” we’re making a commitment to do more than simply raise awareness, and we hope you’ll join us. Without further ado, we’re thrilled to announce that the next Ace Week will take place on October 24th-30th, 2021, with the theme Beyond Awareness!

Since 2015, Ace Week’s dates have followed the standardized format of always being on the last full week starting in October (starting on Sunday), and they will remain on those dates for the foreseeable future. Here’s a list of when Ace Week will take place for the next ten years: 2021: October 24th - 30th. 2022: October 23rd - 29th

Five states have formally recognized Ace Week! United States governors often “proclaim” celebrations and awareness weeks as a way of recognizing their importance to their citizens, and a growing number of states have begun proclaiming Ace Week!

Scheduled for October 25th–31st, this Ace Week will mark the 10th anniversary of the first Asexual Awareness Week in 2010. In honor of this milestone and many others that are taking place within our community this year, the theme for Ace Week 2020 will be “Our History.”

Nine years ago, Asexual Awareness Week was founded to bring visibility and recognition to asexual spectrum (ace) identities. Over those years, communities across the globe have embraced this celebration and made it their own in remarkable and inspiring ways.
