How to apply ATF/Acetone antiseize mix | BobIsTheOilGuy
Feb 5, 2016 · The ATF-Acetone mix was a “home brew” mix of 50 - 50 automatic transmission fluid and acetone. Note the “home brew” was better than any commercial product in this one particular test. Our local machinist group mixed up a batch and …

Jan 23, 2013 · I put together a list of alternatives for the OEM Mazda ATF-FZ automatic transmission fluid. The manufacturer datasheets specify Mazda ATF-FZ as an application. I've included general internet prices and kinematic viscosities as well. OEM Mazda ATF FZ. $11.00/qt. Color - Blue, KV@40C - unknown, KV@100C - unknown. Ravenol FZ Fluid.
How critical is ATF Viscosity? | BobIsTheOilGuy
Jun 5, 2002 · How critical is viscosity to ATF operation, and how would a fluid that is more viscous or less viscous affect operation and/or shift quality? Quote: One would like the fluid to have the viscosity of water, which is 0.66 cSt@40C. But, we need a …
ATF: Amsoil Signature vs Toyota WS vs Idemitsu
Dec 22, 2021 · Ravenol seems a lot like the idea behind Idemitsu, but I can't find published specs/data on it, so that's a red flag. MaxLife ATF looks like a competitor to Amsoil and it is actually certified for use in Toyota Aisin transmissions, but it just doesn't get the same level of rave reviews and people claiming it fixed existing issues.
Mercedes ATF - Shell 134 or something else? | BobIsTheOilGuy
Nov 22, 2013 · Shell ATF 134 (MB 236.14 certified) is semi-synthetic, back label. A Valvoline "ATF Pro 236.14" is claimed by manufacturer as "full synthetic". Does this mean that there IS or there ISN'T a difference between the two? If a spec can be met by a semi-synthetic formulation, why would Valvoline meet it with a "full synthetic" formula?
ATF 3353 vs. Dex III vs. Dex VI | BobIsTheOilGuy
Dec 14, 2002 · ATF's shear down relatively fast. It's not that Dexron III was aimed at some median viscosity but rather it was aimed at being ~6 cSt for most of it's service life and started out higher because they used cheap base stocks and the VII's they had back then were easily sheared. RL Synthetic (they really need to rename it) is 7.2 cSt and synthetic.
Motorcraft MERCON LV vs Valvoline MaxLife Multi-Vehicle ATF
Jun 2, 2020 · There are none as far south as me, let alone you, but Family Farm & Home (similar to TSC, Rural King, etc) has Mag1 LV ATF for around that price every day it seems. Federated Auto Parts uses Warren (i.e. MAG1) as their blender for their store-brand ATF too.
ATF+4 Choices and Amsoil - BobIsTheOilGuy
Jul 19, 2009 · AMSOIL's ATF on the other hand is a very generic type that they "recommend" for everything, but the reality is its a hyperfied Dexron/Mercon like fluid. Its impossible for it to satisfy everything out there because some are thicker, some are thinner, some need plenty of friction modifiers, some call for none.
is Mobil 1™ Synthetic LV ATF HP compatible with dexron VI ATF?
May 20, 2011 · Mobil 1 LV ATF HP is compatible with Dexon HP, not Dexron VI. Dexron VI and Dexron HP (including Mobil 1 LV ATF HP) meet different GMW specs, meaning they're tangibly different and not interchangeable. Dexron VI = 6-speed FWD and 6-speed RWD transmission, as well as supersession for Dexron III; Dexron HP = 8-speed RWD and 9-speed FWD transmission
