Feb 26, 2011 · The 44 Rem Mag case is .457 diameter and straight, where the 44 AMP is .473 at the base and tapers. You can make the cases from .308/30-06 etc but you can also buy the brass from Starline and CorBon makes factory ammo.

Sep 18, 2023 · Probably fired 1,000 rounds or so in the last 25 years through the 44 Rem Mag upper. We made about 300 uppers in 50 Action Express and about a dozen in 440 Corbon.....both of which are harder on the bolt than the 44 Rem Mag.
