The Air Mobility Command (AMC) is a Major Command (MAJCOM) of the U.S. Air Force. It is headquartered at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, east of St. Louis, Missouri, near Mascoutah, Illinois. [5]

AMC includes the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center, one numbered air force and the 618th Air Operations Center. The command operates 10 installations and has two regional bands, the USAF Band of Mid-America and USAF Band of the Golden West.

Air Mobility Command provides four core mission sets to the Joint Force world wide at any time. Airlift provides the capability to deploy U.S. armed forces anywhere in the world within hours and help sustain them in a conflict.

AMC provides worldwide cargo and passenger delivery, air refueling and aeromedical evacuation. The command also transports humanitarian supplies to hurricane, flood and earthquake victims both at home and around the world.

With more than 400 aircraft, 18th AF supports AMC’s worldwide mission of providing rapid global mobility to America’s armed forces through airlift, aerial refueling and aeromedical evacuation.
