Jul 27, 2018 · The ALX Zolo rods are good rods (I have fished the ALX ZOLO Powerbolt and Deputy) but in my experience they are not as sensitive as a GLX. The GLX, Phenix K2, NRX, Megabass Destroyers, Legend Elite/Legend X, Conquest and Z Bones are the pinnacle of sensitivity for a reason and there prices reflect that.

Mar 16, 2017 · On to ALX rods...I only have 1, but it has impressed me a lot. The model I have is the Zolo Brawler. Not really in the same category as the rods you're looking at since it's a 7'6" XH...But overall the Zolo line is impressive and gets great reviews across the board. If I was spending $200 retail on a rod the ALX Zolo would be at the top of my list.

Jul 2, 2024 · I'd consider either the Megabass Levante or Orochi XX as they both have the "shakyhead" model, but the ALX Maestro seems very similar and the price is right in the middle. I currently have an ALX Zolo Deputy I use for jigs and texas rigs (1/4-1/2oz) which has really impressed me with its sensitivity, but have never used a megabass rod.

Dec 1, 2021 · I prefer the falcon rods weight, balance and sensitivity over alx. Falcon rods run very true to their weight (3/8, 1/2oz, etc)rating. The actual power ratings (mh,hvy,etc) can be misleading compared to some other brands though.

Nov 25, 2022 · I own several ALX rods, 1 in the enox series, a spinning rod (wizard) easily my favorite spinning rod, great quality. Very light wieght and sensitive. Can’t go wrong with any ALX rod, and customer service second to none.
