Sep 26, 2022 · The AES out from receiver is one conversion (inside the receiver) then into an AES input (resampling) on the mixer. It is still only one conversion to digital, but re-sampled. I would challenge anyone to hear the difference but it might be possible in some circumstances.

Aug 19, 2020 · Yes the AES out is audio, but it is unlikely to have any effect on the other items you mention. Transport, digital clock sync, time code, and processing latency are all different things and don't have much to do with each other. Transport (AES, MADI, etc) is audio data and always contains clock sync with it.

Oct 2, 2005 · AES/EBU output puts most cards squarely in the Pro Audio caliber of cards, stuff that might be targeted towards DAW & Studio use rather than consumer audio/gaming. IMO RME and Lynx are the only two soundcards worth considering. The RME HDSP9632 worked well for me because it supported an upgrade path.
