Mar 2, 2020 · The flat black hood served a purpose in Trans-Am racing. It eliminated glare off the hood for the driver. On modern Challengers, it is just for retro styling. The 1970 'AAR 'Cuda and the 1969 Mustang Boss 302 had the same treatment.
