Dec 4, 2007 · It seemed underpowered for some reason and just did not feel as good as the 82, also sort of felt smaller and more low sitting which I did not like. Anyway- back on topic for the KX of the same period- your bike looks superb MaxPower! She is a beauty! I think the 82-85 KX125 was the best looking 125 bike of the time.
Where have all the 1982-1983 KX125's gone? - Old School Moto
Feb 22, 2012 · My 1st bike was an 82, 2nd an 83 KX 125. While I have memories of them I have no overly fond memories. I now own an 84 that I restored but really want an 85. Such an awesome bike and I made the wrong decision to switch to a YZ in 85. I did see a mint restro 83 125 at a vint race at Budds Creek back in 08 or 09... Tempted to buy. They are out there
Replacement gas tanks for single radiator KX125s - Vital MX
Nov 25, 2007 · I'm showing that IMS offers a 3.2 oversize tank for the 89 KX125, but am striking out on locating a new OEM spec replacement tank. After seeing an ad on Ebay on a '82 KX125 (air cool) tank selling for $999, I'm wondering why anyone hasn't started manufacturing replacement tanks for these machines. Seems like there is money to be made.

Jul 28, 2014 · I know the crank bearings went out of my 82 KX125 really fast using Bel-Ray. I was at a LL qualifier, Mike Roths mechanic told me I screwed up. It took less than 10hours to ruin the bottom end. I am racing a 85 KX125 now on Yamalube at 32:1 seems to be ok in it.

Jan 24, 2011 · Back in the day..1986 when I freshened the '85 KX125 with TUF seat cover bike,,I remember raising the exhaust port a small amount...020" and that made it hit harder up top. Gave the feeling it was faster with harder hit...but the other '85 was done by Barr Comp in (NC I believe) and it was faster and easier to ride with wider powerband.

Classic Bike Review: 1981 Suzuki RM125-X - Vital MX
Jul 20, 2011 · Back in 81 I had a 81 CR125, my best riding buddy had a 81 KX125, and a friend of his (maybe it was his cousin) had a 81 YZ125. After riding the other guy's bikes, I realized that my CR was a turd. I really liked the KX125, but my buddy and his friend both liked the YZ125 best and hated my CR. This was until we got to ride the new RM125.

Aug 15, 2006 · Ive always found the 82 & 83 125's and the 82 - 84 250's a bit quirky because of the rear guard with the side panels incorporated into it, i can only imagine what was said when the 1982 spy photos surfaced… I like the colour of the powder coating on the triples, Its understated could be a nice touch in the end.

Oct 14, 2011 · I have a 83 now,,,and had a 82 back in the day.
