May 3, 2011 · And generally search for pixel art tutorials, not 8bit, 16bit, etc art (the "bits" have nothing to do with the art). Also you might want to use a more pixel art friendly program than photoshop. A lot of people seem to like Graphics Gale which also has tools for animation.

Sep 1, 2016 · Typically, most 8-bit era games limit themselves to the NES colour palette, some of the games that are more dedicated to the art style (i.e. Retro City Rampage and Shovel Knight) will also try to limit each sprites to having four to eight colours, and fewer will also try to limit to the NES colour palette.

Apr 26, 2021 · As for a repeating pattern, the black 'bit' pixels are actually counting up in binary, so every 8 black pixels are actually based on the images position on the sprite sheet, so the first image (index 0, because programming) has all 'bits' turned off because its binary number is 00000000, and it progresses up to 255 and all bits are turned on ...

May 11, 2021 · GBC has an 8 bit processor. it used fewer bits than that to actually display color while playing tho. so technically, it would only need 4 5 or 6 bits, depending on how many unique colors are in the tileset. so you could call it a "6 bit image" if you need to be specific, but "8 bit" is the right era, so I'd go with that.

Mar 16, 2021 · Has anyone seen an 8-bit / 16-bit / pixel-art inspired asset pack that would work with Dungeondraft? I found a cool 16-bit pack for Hex Kit and I'd love to also be able to make battle maps in a kind of pixel art style.
