It was freezing and altitude is high. Im going to dial down a couple grains and see how velocity holds up. H1000 and RL22 seem to hold better groups.

Its kind of like comparing a 6br to a 243. They with both do the job but the short fat steeper shoulder improved cartidges are hard not to love. The wsm is a great case design its hard to find ...

Feb 23, 2012 · I built a 7-300 WSM last year, same thing as a 7-270WSM, the only reason I went that route over the 7 WSM was brass. 270 WSM brass is everywhere, I neck it up with a .284 expander mandrel. I get 3000 FPS in a 26" barrel with 180's loaded long, accuracy and ease of tuning is fantastic with WSM cases.

Jun 24, 2007 · The next 7mm WSM build should be done shortly and I'm gonna try some 154 SST's and interbonds in it due to short mag length. It will be a mid range gun anyway that won't weigh much. Hope to have it shootin soon. If you are cramming them in a short action, they will be seated deep. Just part of the equation.

Feb 13, 2016 · Hey guys I just bought a browning bar 7mm WSM with a boss system. I'm also going on my first elk hunt this year. I'm gonna use my browning bar 300 win mag for the primary. I wanted to hear some elk stories with the 7mm WSM. Any bullet (factory) suggestions would be grand. Also some budget scope ideas would be appreciated.

I have a couple of 7 wsm's, both surgeon actions, both with #10 contour barrels finished at 25", one I shoot suppressed the other has a thruster muzzle break. Shooting 180gr VLD's at 3000+ fps, both are tack drivers. One was built by GAP and the other was built by Surgeon.

Jan 8, 2008 · Been a 7mm lover most of that time. A couple of years ago I helped my son build a 300 WSM and I so impressed that I had to have one myself. The 300 WSM can shoot heavier bullets, faster, flatter, less wind drift, more accurately and with less recoil than the 7mm Rem. Mag. Argue with me all you want but this has been my experience with both rounds.
