My 4th GGF Daniel Lester lived most of his life in Shepshed, Leicestershire. From the details of his second marriage to Mary Middelton on 18 Mar 1840 we know his father was Thomas Lester deseased. Daniel died on 28 Aug 1856 at the Union Workhouse in Loughborough aged 77.

Aug 21, 2023 · My 4th ggf b. 1780 Maxime Melanson-1423 is incorrect. It displays as 2nd cousin 6x removed. When I click "more" it shows we are connected 13 different ways but not as my 4th ggf. I was trying to trace my ancestry from Michel Hache to me and this was the only relationship display error on a profile. All of my sources are accurate.

I'm trying to determine if my 4th GGF served in the Civil War, possibly in the Army and/or the Navy. I have been researching records for a few years but I am unable to find the 'Ah-Ha!' record that links him to his reported naval/military service.
