The Masters holes 11, 12, and 13, also known as Amen Corner, was DirecTV’s and therefore CBS’s first live 4K event coverage. The first Masters in 4K HDR was two years later, April 5-8, 2018. In addition to Amen Corner holes 11, 12, 13, holes 15 and 16 were also shown in 4K HDR.

Oct 30, 2003 · Yup I agree with your belief. I think real 4k resolution makes more of a difference than hdr esp on bigger tv’s (77 inches and above) or if you’re sitting close to your tv. But I would love to have both HDR and 4k resolution and atmos. Directv does add HDR on all their 4k broadcasts. There was also atmos audio on the espn feed via Directv.

Dec 29, 2022 · Streaming has a much lower bar technically than ATSC 3.0 or whatever cable may do. Only hope is that streamers with live sports see 4K sports streams gaining them market share. Certainly Paramount + and Peacock could use more streaming subscriptions. But other than AVS types, I don't think people would pay for Paramount + just because of 4K sports.

Does anyone have an article about the production that gets into the details about things like whether this was produced in native 4K or HDR? It does look a bit dim to my eyes. Might just be an overcast sky. The sharpness is solid though.
