Jan 11, 2022 · reset your bios -> install the extra RAM -> if it fails here remove the extra RAM If it passes the above test, try to enable XMP and see if it boots. If it fails here, remove the extra RAM. If it passes the XMP test, run memtest86 or some other memory stress test/benchmark overnight. If it fails here, remove the extra RAM.

Sep 4, 2020 · Currently I have 16 GB RAM installed in my system. I have two more slots available for expanded RAM slots and am noticing how cheap I can get two 16GB cards now adays. I am wondering if it would be a bad idea to have two 8 GB chips and two 16GB chips? Is it possible there will be compatibility issues with my motherboard?

Oct 25, 2016 · 16GB alone should be plenty enough to get you through several years of college. I'd be more worried about bloatware building up on your machine than the amount of RAM you have. It's not like programs are suddenly going to start using four times more RAM than they do now. The most overkill I would go is 32GB. I also do not recommend mixing memory.

It's always better. And requested RAM doesn't mean an application is constantly using 100% of it. If you are running quite high on RAM usage and have e.g. 12GB out of 16GB in usage, that means you only have 4GB left that can be requested by apps you launch. And since they request percentage, the value is getting smaller and smaller.

Jun 22, 2023 · As long as you can enable xmp, there is no downside to use 48gb. Sometimes xmp will not work with 4 sticks in which case just install 32gb. Unless you are using more than 32gb of ram, you will not see a performance increase but at the same time some programs will use more ram if they see that you have it.

Dec 20, 2023 · 48gb - 7200mhz 36CAS 64gb - 6600mhz 32CAS I realize 32gb is the standard and would give me the fastest option, but I feel that it might now be enough over the next few years so 48+ gives me piece of mind. I could also try and lower the timings of the 48gb or boost the speed of the 64gb sticks. But maybe the sheer speed of the 32gb is worth it.

So, 8000MT/s G.Skill RAM on the list says absolutely nothing about your chosen RAM.
