Sep 29, 2017 · For the cost and work involved and since you have an auto car all ready I'd jump to a TKO or T-56 swap. Regardless of transmission you need to modify the floor tunnel. I'm doing a Hurst TKO conversion and all went smooth but it's more work to do to a factory 4 speed car than an auto in regards to the tunnel work.

Mar 7, 2017 · If the car was a manual 3 speed car ( a lot of 318 Demons were 3 speed manual) it would have the hump and the Z-bar bracket. Heck even the /6 cars manual had all of that, but this guy "feels" legit to my spidey senses. I just had never actually torn apart a 340 4 speed car before and I've striped aALOT of A-bodies in my day.

Dec 26, 2016 · I had owned one of these a few years ago and sold the car to a buddy of mine here in town after a couple of years of good fun. Same animal really a #'s 74 Duster 360 4 speed car. Rust free like this one but the paint on it not as nice. That a Maroon with black bucket car. I bought and sold for quite a bit less than this brown car.

May 4, 2016 · Working on relocating my battery to the trunk. Wiring and such aren't an issue, nor gauge. What I am struggling with is how to get the heavy battery cable thought the firewall. I see lots of people use the clutch rod hole, but with a 4 speed, that isn't an option. Need some ideas on how and where to do this.

Apr 18, 2009 · How about the guy here on FABO that's parting out a 66 Barracuda Formula S 4 speed car. Message him and see what he has. Also, with regards to the crossmember, the 66 and earlier crossmembers are only cut out on the drivers side to accomodate the single exhaust that these cars came with.

Jul 17, 2009 · The four speed has the potential to go faster with the same set up, it weighs less and has less parasitic drivetrain loss. So, if everything else is the same, the 4 speed car will put more power to the ground. But usually racing is more about consistency than the absolute fastest time, so the auto usually wins out.

Aug 3, 2011 · This may be a dumb question, but i'll go out on a limb anyway. My last car was an automatic with a four barrel carb. When you punched the gas pedal while cruising, you can feel that extra kick in g-forces when your head kind of snaps back a bit. The car I have now is a 71 Demon four speed and four barrel. This is my first four speed car.
