What was worse: the 3do or the Jaguar? - AnandTech Forums
Jan 24, 2012 · I like the 3DO a lot better than the Jaguar and the 3DO could even do alpha blending which the Saturn didn't have hardware support for. The 3DO simply had more good games than the Jaguar. All the Jaguar had was Tempest 2k, Rayman, AvP, and maybe another 2 or 3 good games.
Jaguar vs. 3DO? - Atari Jaguar - AtariAge Forums
Jul 13, 2007 · One of the first games I ever saw played for the 3DO was Crash N' Burn. I don't think I've ever seen a game that looked that good on the Jaguar. Since then, my opinion of the 3DO vs. Jaguar has leaned a bit towards 3DO in the power category. Of course, it's not fair to compare the 3DO to a Jag without a CD player, IMO.
What is the technical Power Gap between the 3DO and the Atari …
Nov 11, 2017 · The Jaguar got its better looking games during its life span early while 3DO or Playstation got their later, though the 3Do was still cut short to say it was the best it could do. It's like trying to download more apps on your Phone when you have no storage and when the full capacity of the Phone is 2Gbs and one app takes up 1.5 you can't ...
Atari Jaguar Vs. 3DO - Classic Console Discussion - AtariAge Forums
Dec 3, 2013 · The 3DO has an even less impressive library than the Jaguar, judging from the reviews I've read, and the hardware seems equally underwhelming. As others have pointed out, the exclusive use of optical media is bound to become more problematic over time.

Mar 7, 2015 · The 3DO and Jaguar are about even for me. On the 3DO, the crystal dynamics games have held up well for the era and I get enjoyment out of them. Road Rash and Need for Speed are quite good as well. I am also a fan of the FZ-1's design and the design of the controller.
Specs Question: Was the Jaguar ACTUALLY stronger than the 3DO?
Sep 14, 2020 · Maybe you've been hanging around too much Jaguarophiles boards. To me, the idea that the Jaguar was more powerful than the 3DO hasn't been a mainstream topic of discussion in most gaming forums and boards for the past 15 years at least, when people really delved into 3DO development (which was slowed alot due to both the custom chips, lack of documentation (at the time) and the locking key ...
Atari Jaguar vs 3do - AtariAge Forums
Jun 14, 2015 · Of the 'good games' left after excluding the games ported off the 3DO I found myself preferring the Jaguar. It has been a long time since I played a game on the 3DO but find myself dusting off the Jaguar much more often. probably due to the higher number of good arcade style games as austin mentioned, which have a higher replay value.
The Jag , 3DO and history - Atari Jaguar - AtariAge Forums
Jul 1, 2009 · Before I got into Retro gaming (or learned about more consoles in general), the only one of the above (Jag, 3DO, CD32, or CDi) I;d heard of was the Jaguar. Mainly my dad mentioning it a few times, mentioning how it was pretty impressive at the time and a shame things ended up the way they did.
So how powerful is the Jaguar exactly? - AtariAge Forums
Oct 29, 2017 · The 32-bit 3DO, 32X and PlayStation were nice systems, but only half as powerful as the Atari Jaguar. The Nintendo 64 was equal in power to the Atari Jaguar. At the risk of actually entertaining the kind of nonsense this thread is destined to invoke, "bitness" and "power" are both nebulous, ill-defined terms that mean nothing; for being half as ...
JAGUAR, 3DO, AND THE CDI - Page 5 - AtariAge Forums
Mar 7, 2015 · Well I DO love Atari overall though sadly my personal experience with Jaguar was pretty much seeing some commercial's, reading articles, seeing in person a boxed system in a store on Yonge St. back in the day in downtown Toronto, I looked at the box and read everything, looked at the boxed carts, I certainly would have dropped the money on it even though it was already going down in price (I ...
