Apr 15, 2012 · SAMMI specs on the .308 Win are higher than on the 7.62x51 NATO round. So one isn't suppose to run .308 Win cartridges through a 7.62x51 chamber. Shooting NATO rounds in a .308 Win rifle is OK.
