Aug 18, 2019 · I’m converting my AR pistol with a brace to a form 1 sbr. I already have a 556 upper and would like a dedicated 22lr upper. It will be suppressed 100% of the time and was wondering what is your go to barrel/twist rate for short 22’s? Any advise on a 22lr conversion kit? There are a bunch out there and they don’t seem that different.

Jul 9, 2019 · I’m new to 22lr AR builds and looking for recommendations on barrel, bolt, etc. Barrel should be in the 6 to 10 inch range to stay subsonic. I’ll be using it on my existing AR SBR’d lowers and it’ll have a suppressor on it, hence the short-ish barrel length to make it manageable for squirrel $ rabbit hunting, sparrow plinking, etc.

Feb 12, 2023 · Looking for a good quality suppressor for a sbr. So many options out there. What’s repeatable, durable, and not too long. Would also prefer a quick detach. Been running a few drills on the range and it would be nice to be a few decibels quieter. Thanks!

May 29, 2020 · A subsonic 22lr and a supersonic 22lr that produced similar results at 200 yards. Same brand, bullet weight and type produced almost identical results. Should not have happened if the transonic shift was true. That's when I began to question the cause of hi-v 22lr inaccuracy. There is a very obvious explanation for poor results with hi-v 22lr.

Aug 7, 2023 · If I was gonna do a bolt action SBR, I have concluded a couple of things: 1. Use a very short action, rem mod 7, howa mini, somethin like that, aftet all, every inch counts. (Thats what she said) 2. Use a zippy caliber like 223, 6.5G, or whatever.

Feb 4, 2009 · Re: best barrel length for a 22lr Another factor to consider is how the gun will be shot. If it is a hand held rifle as in any of the 3-position sports, then the gun is always moving, no one can hold one totally motionless except maybe superman.

Oct 3, 2018 · the most reliable Mags for .22LR AR's are the S&W M&P mags. coupled with a Boonie packer better mag adapter, giving you hold open etc. Personally Ive found that chambering in .22bentz gives a nice accurate chamber, and a little work on the CMMG collar ensures reliable feeding/ extraction (although they are a lot better than they were 3-4 years ago)

The question i have is: What is the longest length barrel you can use, but still keep the round subsonic? I'd like to retain accuracy, but i'm willing to sacrifice some, to make the suppressors job ...

Feb 17, 2019 · Over in Europe Anschutz sells a .22lr 14" threaded barrel bolt action for use with a sound moderator, intended for the squirrel hunter crowd. I use several 16.5" barrels now, but have a few 18, 20, 23 and 26" as well. I now only use the longer barrels for bench rest, they are just too cumbersome compared to the shorter barreled rifles.
