Jan 19, 2023 · Initially had a lot of driver issues, where when using the eGPU, the dGPU would have a yellow exclamation mark on it and would not be usable when the eGPU was disconnected. To get the dGPU working, I'd have to reinstall the GTX 1050 driver each time. After a lot of searching online, the solution that worked for me is from these Reddit threads:

Nov 9, 2016 · I'm looking at building a relatively cheap eGPU for my MacBook Pro. I was originally going to go with the Atiko thunderbolt 2 box, 750ti, and an evga PSU for a total of around $380. However, I read that the 1050ti is about 50% more powerful than the 750ti for about $50 more.

I followed Isthernes step by step guide except for the 375.73 drivers seems to be undefinable to download right now, in which case I used the 3 75.63 drivers which was also reported to work.

Sep 16, 2020 · You can go with non-eGPU certified enclosures but that's for more advanced ppl. Some enclosures are / were available with built in cards although I would think the lowest is an 1060 / RX 560 The Lenovo Graphics Dock has a 1050 Mobile in it and yet it's like a normal TB3 dock size. Little engineering marvel.
