Jan 18, 2022 · The LMH spec can be called "Hypercar" but to avoid confusion it is best to call it "Le Mans Hypercar" or "LMH" for clarity. The LMH subspec for road-going tubs is called "Hypercar" as well. The LMDh can accurately be called "Hypercar" in the sense that it belongs to the overall environment.

Dec 8, 2022 · The brand rules are about the classes in the series (GTP in IMSA, Hypercar in WEC), not about LMDh or LMH. They apply equally regardless of the spec of car. To compete in IMSAs GTP class using either an LMDh or an LMH you have to be a US car brand selling at least (I think) 2,500 cars a year in the US market.
