Jul 6, 2019 · If you click on the link in my original post, that is a programming cable for the AOR 8600 Mk2 (which I already have). The end connector is a 9-Pin DB9 connector. I don't believe every one of the 9-Pins are used; I guess maybe only 3 or 4 are used -- to transmit/receive data.

Feb 26, 2012 · Two things - I want to plug a GPS in and have 5VDC available at pin 4 of the DB9 connector. It appears there is 5VDC based circuit board markings near the DB9 connecotr but not when measured with a DVM. I am also considering mounting a GPS receiver inside unit with external antenna.

Mar 7, 2016 · Getting from the 8-pin mini-DIN connector on the radio to the DB9 connector that's supposed to go to your computer is straightforward. If the wiring of the home-brew or after-market cable matches the wiring of Kenwood's cable, it will work. Period. The issue is getting from the RS232 signal that the DB9 connector presents to USB.
