Oct 10, 2009 · VVT-i is sort of like the best of both cam worlds, you can have a high hp, high rpm cam and a high torque, at low rpm cam on the same camshaft. It basically is the same as Honda's VTEC. Interesting fact it was actually Ferrari who originally used variable valve technology, way back in the mid 1980's!
