Feb 3, 2010 · My husband was put on nephrostomy tubes on both left and right side over 8 months ago. He will have to be on them for the remainder of his life. Unfortunately starting 2 months ago we have been experiencing a very strong odor associated with the tubes. Have tried chaning the bags and the outside tubes frequently along with clothing and bedding.

Aug 21, 2017 · My husband just had a nephrostomy tube put in the drain his left kidney. He underwent radical cycectomy, prostate removal and still has cancer. He got sepsis after the nephrostomy tubes were placed. And to top it all off now he is having trouble sleeping because the tube is so uncomfortable. Feb 9, 2013 · I am having what looks like mucus always in my nephrostomy tube and bag. I had the tube replaced this last monday. I asked the Interventional radiologist nurse and she said it was sediment and was normal. Tonight I had some blood and talked with the resident on call and he was not sure if it was sediment or if it was mucus from my indiana pouch.

Jan 30, 2021 · My husband has 2 nephrostomy tubes and is currently on his second cycle of cisplatin for metastatic BC. About a week and a half ago we noticed a very strong plastic-y smell (like a kiddie pool liner) from one of the bags. He reported this to the cancer center and no one seems to have ever come across this smell before.

Started with tape across the tube on my thigh for strain relief, the changed to a foley catheter legband holder-several different brands available, got mine on Amazon.
