It is the largest natural lake found in Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island. It is also located at the northernmost end of the Last Green Valley. Webster Lake is a "natural" lake in the sense that it existed prior to intervention by man, but the depth of the lake has been increased about two feet by the addition of a dam at the north end.
