Sd.Kfz. 263 (Gerat 95) was a heavy cross-country radio vehicle (“Funkspähwagen”) equipped with extra long-range radio equipment and an additional radio operator. Sdkfz 263 was based on the Sd.Kfz. 232 series. Sdkfz 263 8-rad was developed from 1934 to 1938 alongside the Sd Kfz 231 and 232 vehicles.

The vehicle had a not rotatable turret with integrated radio mast. In 1936, the gepanzerte Kraftwagen (Fu) (Kfz. 67b) was renamed to Panzerfunkwagen (Sd. Kfz. 263).

The two frontal supporters of the roof antenna attached on the front of the turret are typical. Normally, a radio mast is visible in the turret. It seems that it was dismounted in the case of the illustrated vehicle.
