It's not made by Namco, doesn't feature any Namco car designs or music and has a very different art style so it doesn't feel like a Ridge Racer game in a lot of ways.

Jul 13, 2024 · Not sure if it was mentioned in this video, but Ridge Racer on Vita actually had playable Daytona cars and a Daytona track in it - as well as music. Besides the 30fps and the way the game was divided into a hundred pieces of DLC, Ridge Racer on Vita was underrated. It did a lot of neat little innovative things with regards to online play.

Apr 7, 2025 · As much as I want Ridge Racer 8, seeing that the prototype appears to be yet another same-y sequel that does nothing to stand out from the last few entries in terms of aesthetic or gameplay makes me less sad that it got canned. Would have still been nice to have it on Switch though.

4 days ago · Honestly, if it wasn't a Ridge Racer game, I think people would have enjoyed it quite a bit more. It's a nice Burnout-like. Not special or exceptional, but if you're a racing game fan, you should check it out. It has absolutely no business being called a Ridge Racer game though, it basically has none of the series' elements.
