Apr 20, 2010 · The hardware connection is routed inside the center arm rest so it is easy to get to and the iPod/iPhone can be stored safely inside if you want to connect it for charging or music playback. As soon as you plug the iPhone into the supplied Apple plug the music starts to play. I don't care for that but that is what it does.

May 9, 2015 · In the US models, either USB port is fine, and you can use up to two USB memory or portable devices (iPod, phone, etc.) at the same time. I think the base model here has only one USB port (Premium and Limited have two), and the manual says you can use a USB hub, but it will "find" only the first two devices plugged in.

Sep 20, 2017 · In the General Settings Menu, Item 10, Select to set whether to automatically start playing when an iPod or a USB memorydevice containing audio files is connected. The factory default weapon is apparently "off." I was having the USB stick problem, and changing that menu setting took care of it. I don't know about fixing an iPod or Carplay problem.
