Dec 2, 2020 · I am considering upgrading to an iPhone SE 2nd Generation, and need to know how much longer Apple will continue to support it. I have heard rumors that when iOS 15 comes out it will not upgrade on the iPhone SE 2nd Generation, is that true?

Assuming iOS 15 comes out in Sept 2021 and the rumors are true, it will have been supported 5.5 years. Since most iPhones have been supported 5 years, the same will likely be true for the SE2.

1st Gen iPhone SE is stuck on iOS 15 forever, it'll be the last iOS version. We are now at iOS 17. iOS 15 is still usable and most iOS apps are still supported, but shortly it will become obsolete as app developers drop support for iOS 15.
