Jan 19, 2011 · I don't know if Apple changed the charging circuit on the iPad 8th gen but the 7th gen was actually capable of pulling 15W from USB-C charger. iPad Pros (except 9.7) and Air 3 are capable of using up to 30W, though. Great when one needs a quick top-up.
